After talking with a number of people about how much we miss regular A&S activities, I’d like to try hosting at Crosston Annex, 88 Gunderman Rd [Ithaca, NY 14850], off 96B in Danby — we’ll experiment with different options, and whatever works well will continue in regular meetings.

For the first meeting, people are welcome to bring handwork that can be done in one’s lap (currently there aren’t many flat surfaces for people to work on), and I’d be glad to teach period rounds to sing for maybe an hour — if nobody wants to sing, we’ll just chat.

Elska has suggested Thursday evenings as a good winter meeting day, since archery doesn’t happen when it’s too cold & dark — so the first date will be next Thursday, 23 January.

People are welcome to start showing up after 6pm, and I’ll have some sort of soup and bread at 6:30 — activities will start at 7pm, and things hopefully wrap up after three hours or so.

Anyone who thinks they’ll want soup, please let me know so I can have enough ready? It’s OK but definitely not necessary to come with something to share — there’s way too much food in my house, so please plan to consume or take away whatever you bring… :>

Fair warning, my house runs cold, around 60-62F — there are plenty of wraps for people to bundle up in, and a few electric blankets for the very cold-sensitive, but please dress for these conditions.

Also, if one or few people might be willing to show up earlier and help with getting my house cleaned up for visitors (mostly vacuuming & sweeping, while I scrub porcelain), I’d be very grateful for that! :>
