Arts & Sciences meeting on the 3rd Thursday of each month, possibly with a presenter on a certain topic (check our email list or Facebook group for details), or an open session of working your own projects in the company of other artisans. Bring food to share if you wish.
Hosted by Cassandra at her house, which tends to run cold (62F), so please dress warmly if you’re coming in chilly weather.
See our meetings page for further details about the venue and the possible use of loaner gear.

Come one, come all… Myrkfaelinn dance practice returns after a very long absence!
Sir Lorimer will provide instruction on various dances that often appear at SCA events. The Dominion has a number of experienced dancers and other dance teachers who will gladly assist those less experienced as needed.
There may or may not be live musicians any given week, so if you’re keen to play bring your instruments.
Garb will enhance the experience, but is not required. We hope that participants will bring snacks to share.
Important note about parking: PARK IN THE LOT OFF OF GUNDERMAN ROAD! Unless you have a handicapped permit (and the spot in the lot off of 96B is vacant), do not park in front of the fire hall off of 96B. Doing so can cause us to lose the site. If the firehall lot gets full, we can double park on the grass or use the park & ride lot just south of the station at Dotson Park.
Two shoemaking workshops in May – make ‘n’ take basic plain turnshoes, or go wild and make fancy openwork ones with a bit more time and effort
May 9, Saturday, Robert’s house (Harford, near Dryden), 1:00pm-?
May 21, Thursday, normal A&S meeting at Crosston Annex in Danby, 6:00pm-?
Details: both of these workshops cover the same material. The general idea is that you will make one shoe during the class and then make the other one at your convenience. (If the Thursday-evening A&S session is not long enough to complete your first shoe, we will be able to leave everything there and resume at a later regular A&S meeting or reconvene at a different date of mutual convenience to finish it.)
RSVP to Robert via email at kps1@cornell.edu to reserve a spot — each workshop can accommodate about 7 participants.
There is a fee of $20 that covers leather for soles and uppers; needles; an awl; waxed linen thread; 13-page handout; etc. (If the fee is a hardship, we can work something out.)
The message is being posted to the Dominion email list, Discord, Facebook, and the Myrkfaelinn website. A reminder will be posted in early May.
