Music & Dance

Recently interest in medieval music and dance has gained renewed interest in the Dominion, after a long absence. Dance practice is held the first Thursday of each month (see our meetings page for details).

One of our musicians has a replica medieval vielle, while others play modern flutes, fiddles, or recorders.

When we hold a meeting featuring music and dance, we also teach the steps for each dance.

In general, SCA dances cover a wide range of time and social context, from a few groups of couples to large masked balls in top-quality fancy dress for a courtly experience.

Our dances and music range from slow and elegant to fast and exciting.
