Armored Combat and Fencing Practices are generally held year round. They take place on Tuesdays at 7:00pm at Pallas Fitness, 241 Cherry St., Ithaca. This is a large indoor space with room for non-fighters to work on their projects or hang out and watch the activities. A $5 contribution per person is requested. There is a lot of indoor space for non-fighters to work on their projects.
Archery and Thrown Weapons: DONE UNTIL 2026, but then weekly from mid-May through mid-October.
Loaner gear is usually available for all martial activities if requested ahead of time. Archery and thrown weapons practices are subject to weather: updates will be posted to our Facebook page and our email list; if you don’t have access, check the weather forecast before heading to the practice.
Arts & Sciences Meetings: third Thursday of each month, starting at 6pm. Watch Facebook or our email list for announcements of any special topics, otherwise bring your own projects and work on them in the company of other artisans. (See footer for details on subscribing to the email list.) Meetings are hosted by Cassandra of Crosstown at her property at 88 Gunderman Rd. in Danby.
Dancing / Dance Practices: first Thursday of each month at the Danby Firehall (1780 Danby Rd, Ithaca, NY 14850), from 6:30-9:00pm.
Come one, come all… Myrkfaelinn dance practice returns after a very long absence!
Sir Lorimer will provide instruction on various dances that often appear at SCA events. The Dominion has a number of experienced dancers and other dance teachers who will gladly assist those less experienced as needed.
There may or may not be live musicians any given week, so if you’re keen to play bring your instruments.
Garb will enhance the experience, but is not required. We hope that participants will bring snacks to share.
Important note about parking: PARK IN THE LOT OFF OF GUNDERMAN ROAD! Unless you have a handicapped permit (and the spot in the lot off of 96B is vacant), do not park in front of the fire hall off of 96B. Doing so can cause us to lose the site. If the firehall lot gets full, we can double park on the grass or use the park & ride lot just south of the station at Dotson Park.
