The Dominion of Myrkfaelinn once lay within the boundaries of the East Kingdom, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
A few Myrkies attended the big event to mark this special occasion on the weekend just past. Aside from being an especially large event, EK50 had numerous in-depth historical displays of each of their current groups. A set of some 200 dolls depicted all their kings and queens, each uniquely dressed to match Their Majesties’ garb along the way.
Being held at a fairgrounds, it also proved a suitable venue for equestrian activities, including jousting. For most of us Myrkies, this was the first such event attended. It’s a welcome sight to see some animal-related activities in a Society venue.
Although the heat caused the cancellation of various martial activities, the archery tournament was won by Mary, who received a linen-backed hickory bow crafted and donated by Brother Poplyr as her prize, for which we thank him and all the archery marshals of the event.
