Hrólfr á Fjárfelli

Master Hrólfr formerly served Æthelmearc as the Minister of Arts & Sciences and currently serves the Dominion as chatelainexchequer, and head archery marshal. He has been kingdom archery champion and was inducted into the Scarlet Guard in May, 2024.

He has not only been the Kingdom Arts & Sciences co-champion, he was also inducted into the Order of the Laurel for his work in Viking Age looms, textiles, and fiber arts.

Hrólfr also enjoys target archery and many arts and sciences besides weaving and tablet weaving, especially woodworking.

Hrólfr á Fjárfelli is a late-10th-century Viking who likes to entertain himself during the long winters between raids with woodworking, warp-weighted loom weaving, and tablet
weaving.

See his blog Of Warp and Weft or his Academia page for much more detail about his weaving interests and project documentation.

Hrólfr recently taught his first class on tablet weaving, in this case brocading, making a half-dozen warp-weighted tablet weaving looms that he warped ahead of time. See his basic beginner brocading class handout or Basic Beginner Brocading (with videos) for details.
